Henry Krieger and Tom Eyen's hit 1981 Motown musical, Dreamgirls, the showbiz fairy tale about an unknown girl group that is catapulted to international stardom, opens Nov. 22 at Harlem's Apollo Theater in a new production that gives the famous material a makeover.

22 Nov 2009 -- The New York Musical Theatre Festival celebrates new voices in theatre in its annual "Best of the Fest" Awards gala Nov. 22 at the Edison Ballroom.

22 Nov 2009 -- 1937 Ethel Barrymore and Dudley Diggs star in The Ghost of Yankee Doodle. Written by Sidney Howard, the play deals with a woman pacifist whose industrialist family stands to profit from selling arms to Japan. It runs for 48 performances.
